Rhön-Radmarathon Tour B, 182km
At Pentecost cyclists ride in Bimbach …. of course the Rhön-Radmarathon!
With the Rhön-Radmarathon BASIC (Tour B) we want to address marathon beginners. We have come up with a route that offers the same beautiful views of the Rhön, but requires considerably less kilometers and altitude meters from the rider.
The route was completely redesigned in 2019 and leads clockwise over the "Open Distances" of the Hessian, Thuringian and Bavarian Rhön. Our premise during the planning was to lead the route over mainly low-traffic and attractive roads and to reduce the dangerous locations to a minimum. Since 2019, the focus has been on the southern Rhön. For 2022, we have optimized some minor parts of the route based on insights from 2021.
In addition to some well-known climbs, such as the Milseburg, there are many new climbs, such as the climb to the Schwarze Moor (black moor) from Seiferts and the Schwedenwall from Bischofsheim.
After the ascent to the Schwedenwall from Bischofsheim, follow the beautiful descent to Gersfeld and the idyllic Gichenbachtal. After the checkpoint in Oberzell, waits the Große Nickus, which is in no way inferior to the famous Ebersburg.
The route leads to the last checkpoint gently upwards to Buchenrod and afterwards along the rivers Jossa and Lüder almost entirely downhill to Bimbach.
2000 starting places are available for the four Rhön-Radmarathon routes. The participant has to choose a time slot at the registration. The chosen timeslot is mandatory.
